My Daddy was born in Dillon SC. I think there are still some Ellens down in that area. Very few nationwide.

He never taught me racism and I don't have it. He thought things were moving too fast--that was back in the 50s, when the civil rights movement was just getting started. I've been through and suffered the effects of affirmative action, but I'm not bitter about it.

I remember ripple jokes from when I was a teenager. I never saw any.

I'd like to live and let live. I'd like everybody else to do the same. Unrealistic, I know.
