Look just above the quote box and you'll see the ad

Don't see the ad. Unless I don't log in, in which case I see a whole lot of carp, including a text ad for a stock picking site whose editors apparently founded Raging Bull...

But while researching my answer to your post, I went to the SI home page for the first time in I don't know how long, and was amazed to see that Steve Harmon is still a featured <irony> "contributor." </irony>

And I thought he was in jail or something! Or was that Henry Blodget?

Anyway, Steve's writing fabulous!

Short sentences.

Few verbs.

Plenty of third-person references: "we predict..." "Marketsnap estimates that..."

And imagery, like what real writers use: "like primordial ooze stirring in a petrie dish" "the dark horse in the coming McMedia world may be wireless" (wireless horses? really!)

Editing very sloppy:
In other words, the days of broadcast and cable TV may soon find themselves as more producers of professional content than distributors.

Steve Harmon, producer of professional content? The jury is still out to lunch, like some dark horse in a windswept petrie dish...
