The article certainly implies that Softie is replacing GMST's IPG with their own and with no intentions of paying royalties. The one thing that I feared most with losing the legal suits was the validity of existing contracts going forward. I bet Softie feels they are no longer obligated to pay royalties on a contract based on undefendable patents.
If anybody has a clear understanding of the status of existing contracts going forward I would like to hear it.

Going a little further back, Murdoch's crew is trying to do what I suspected them to do, ie; get rid of the money losers. I would love to see them sell off ebooks & skymall and use that money to pay down debt. Being debt free will go a long way to restablishing some credibility.
