Why should Bush back down from North Korea just because they have nukes?

He shouldn't, and I don't believe he has. But NK's having nukes certainly changes the nature of the relationship. I believe NK isn't viewed as an immediate threat (nor is Saddam). But we can stop Saddam from getting nukes; we can't stop NK.

Were there any indication that NK planned to use the nukes they have, I have no question that Bush would be all over them. But for right now, the most sensible policy, I believe, is to try to prevent any additional metastasis of nuclear and other WMD.
