I disagree.
Having had quite a few run-ins in the past especially then when the "bull" died, which was late 2000 and being harassed more than often, while on exchanging PMs he appearently did not live up to his public announcements, I doubt that. Being humble simply hasn't been seen fit (by him). Secondly, the frivulous lawsuit with Jenna is something very strange and unfitting to a perceived message board celeb (or guru),...

As recently as last week I've experienced a much different and very sad feeling when I learned that a very nice guy and SI friend, David Petty died from cancer.

Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you have to dis him when he's dead. My original comment that it was sad was in reference that someone's life could be so screwed up he'd resort to what he did.

It's still sad. I don't have a need to find bad things to say about him at this point.

Peter

That is a great film treatment,
but it is only great because the main character,
though deeply flawed in so many ways,
is also strangely likeable to us.

Despite the contrary views expressed in your first paragraph, your second shows that you understand the human interest in this dichotomy.

Since no one else pointed it out...your words apply to several weird characters on SI, more than you or they probably imagine....

I just cannot get over peoples willingness to give a guy a zillion chances and still get burned and say well he meant well. Yes i'm sorry for his family and friends if he had any, that grieve, but not sorry for him, he made a bad choice on top of 100's of other ones. It's a tragic life but there's a few billion people here on earth and a good many of them have it a lot rougher and they don't end like this.

He was the Nicest Armed Jewelry Thief on the boards.

PS
The issue whether he was armed is subject to debate

Well put.
