I doubt a supreme being can advocate anything, but the book of one of his "Mohammed prophet" sure does.

The book of "Moses prophet" accepted polygamy for a wife and kids of a deceased brother, but to my knowledge it's not in use any more.

Now I do accept polygamy (polymeny too, as to be fair), but only among adults who freely choose that way of life.

Re Islam and Polygamy :

It is true that Islam permits polygamy. One often overlooked fact is that the religion says "marry another woman ONLY if you can treat her as equal to your current wife, in ALL respects".

Just as the religion says "undertake the Haj pilgrimage, ONLY if you are debt free to the world".

People seem to choose the "yeahs", and ignore the "buts".
