Sorry, Mephisto. Presumption on my part. The Sopranos is an HBO series whereby the ins and outs of what life is like for a mobster, and the mobster's family--relative to mobsters of varying kind, whether gambling, drugs or control over how contracts get distributed, etc.

My point was clearly hypothetical, that if the lawyers who represent such interests and influences met with a sitting vice president over the question of policy concerning the economics of crime, would it be fair for the GAO to inquire about any such meetings between mobster-like attornies and the vice president. I'm certain that most Americans would wish to know about any such thing. Such, the nature of an open government.

To elaborate, given what we've learned recently--what many of us have long suspected or known--about the nature of corporate behavior, relative to inside connectivity, it's not a far reach to wonder about how Cheney--an oil man working for an oil man--organized an energy policy for the nation, a nation who, via the auspices of the GAO, wishes to learn exactly how America's energy policies got formulated. Indeed, if a crime economics issue were at the forefront and the vice president met with known attornies for mobsters, we, the people, would certainly wish to know a bit more about what ultimately came down the pike and why.

Hope I've brought clarity to you. Indeed, the Sopranos are not "cool." Neither, it seems to me, is Cheney.
