You are correct, sir. Indeed, Daschle is polite--very polite (and this is nice). But, obviously, he didn't wish to step on Lott's toes.

Fact is, he should have and perhaps could have--certainly should have--invoked a proverbial shinkick without physical force. Unfortunately, he didn't, and it seems he was willing to let the matter simply ride.

Big mistake, in my view!

Thus, my question: How can anyone change anything when they're willing to let everything be the same? The same politeness, the same safeness, leaving the same players in the same game to perpetuate the same ole' conditions?

No question, I believe in being polite. But when an issue is staring you in the face and it means a whole lot to many, how can any a leader ignore this? Thus, my point: Perhaps Dashcle should be replaced with someone willing to take more risk, someone willing to define what is as is and not so willing to embrace the same old game which has been proven, over and over again, not to work except for a few convenient few?
