Energyplay, <<comment on the different parts of China and how they differ in terms of business, risk taking, culture, etc. ?

If you could also include Hong Kong and Taiwan in this comparison, that would be useful for my understanding, since I met lots of people from there here in Silicon Valley.>>

Tough to generalize, but my impressions are:

(a) All Chinese are risk-takers, unless they live in Singapore
(b) Shanghai folks are more thoughtful/strategic risk-takers, smart, sometimes too smart, but once partnered with, make money
(c) Taiwan and HK folks swing for the fences, sometimes risking all
(e) Northern folks are more conservative, cautious, and therefore stable
(f) Southern folks are easier to get to know
(g) Stay away from Anhui province folks, especially if it involves money
(h) business ethics? Stay with the wealthier and more transparent folks who think in longterm fashion
(i) Hakka Chinese, the absolute best, especially when accessorized with French Creole genes;0)
