Ladies and Gentlemen,

I turned 50 years old today. I am comforted that:

The last real traders jtech, james-rockford, IA and Tom Pope still frequent this site...

I have friends like Tobaccoman and John Kim...

Sue Slaine is beautiful...

and

Jay Lyons is still older than me...

Scott McCormick, or
Nagin Ehakela, the name given me by the Lakota Sioux
which means "last shadow"

Peace, my friends

I've been staring at this post, one of the last that Jay made on SI.....if I may use his words.

Unbelievable.

In the late 90's, Jay's online persona perfectly represented what was good about the market and the community that existed on SI and elsewhere. His death tells more than anything about the market, the relationships that developed, and remained strong despite where the market has gone.

Yet if our loss is deep, the depth of despair that Laura must be feeling is fathoms beyond. "How incredibly sad" - don't you know my friend, don't you know.....
