7:12 AM In Play Ciena reports Q4; encouraged by Q1 order activity (CIEN) 5.18: Reports a Q4 net loss of $1.75 a share, which includes several items. Revs fell 83% to $61.92 mln (Multex consensus $53 mln). 'We are encouraged by the order activity we have seen thus far in our fiscal first quarter and expect that revenue in the quarter could increase by as much as 10 percent from our fiscal 2002 fourth quarter.' Co's statement implies Q1 revs of as much as $68 mln; current Q1 consensus is $54.63 mln. CIEN says sees opportunity to achieve growth in 2003.
