i'd agree; their economic survival depends on:

-> the economy recovering booming.
-> businesses putting lots o' expensive people in there.

the funny part is - when i was in grad school 10 years ago (and had the former 2nd in charge of a *major* company as my teacher) - we looked at how the airline's model wasn't very good, and determined that a southwest type airlines would kick butt.

what i'd say is pick the stubbornest / oldest board of directors, and get puts in that stock. it's the company most unlikely to change their ways.
