Ram:
I have to side with the market, which feels rather "ho-hum" about todays news, since revenue from this use of large scale batteries is at best years away. Stephan, in his share-holders conference last month, certainly led me to expect a Tier 1 OEM announcement sometime this present quarter. The Wistron announcement, while very good, is not it. Un-quantified N-Charge sales are not what I am waiting for either. Certainly they are all good. But I feel that nothing short of an announcement of the type that either explicitly or implicitly conveys that real production numbers and revenue are starting to move up the chain is going to hold much weight with serious investors.

While there is no question that the social implications of the present announcements are important, as investors it is necessary to separate that from the investment value. I am already convinced of the value of the battery. What I do not know is whether it can be produced by Valence with adequate margins, in sufficient volume, generate real revenue, compete with other technologies, and do this in a timely fashion to justify a serious share price for investors. Valence has had too many missteps in the past and there is little room for missteps and deceit in the present. Fluff is fluff! I still await real news!! This company has unfortunately used secrecy in the past not simply to confound competitors but also to obfuscate the situation for investors. To recapture trust in the investment community a real change in communication and a genuine transparency will be needed. Hopefully something will be forthcoming.
