All of those praises Clinton offered to Fullbright would've been appropriate had Lott offered them to Thurmond.

He didn't. Lott said the world would be better off had Thurmond won. Lott was running as a segregationist. That is, in hindsight, Strom was right.

Maybe he didn't mean that, but that's what he said.

By embracing this kind of propaganda you demean your own cause.
