Unisphere was the amalgamation of three companies on the east coast. I believe one of the entities was a spinoff of Cabletron. Siemens did own Unisphere, but they were planning on spinning them off as an IPO. I may have some details a bit off. At least one person on SI could give an exact history, I'll ping him.

Alfaretta GA has a big piece. There are also groups in MD. the northeast was discontinued earlier this year.

The ONI people apparently still have NT on their tail from the lawsuit announced earlier this month. I wonder if CIEN was under the impression that that was dead.
