"The truly sad part about this is they are going to find some whore appraiser to do this when I tell them no," says Mr. Turner, who declined to identify the faxing broker. I just had this very conversation with the president of our local bank. Appraisal prices today are set by the broker. If the system was honest the appraiser would not be aware of the selling price at all. Ironic that the sales price is the appraised price every time. It's a farce and a total waste of a buyers money IMO.
