USD broke the 6 year uptrend line today....that's a very big change for gold.

Analyst Greg Weldon has become more bullish on gold and silver since
we last spoke to him, writing this week that "with all countries
seeking, and needing, even marginal monetary stimulus, including
currency depreciation, investors are increasingly pursuing a vehicle
of wealth storage that does not rely on a paper IOU issued by a
central bank. Welcome gold and silver, as monetary metals." He also
notes some positive technical developments in Placer Dome and
Newmont Mining, adding that a break above $11 in the former would be
even more promising... yesterday the stock did briefly go above that
level.
