How would you go about protecting yourself?

Excellent question.

I would actually be interested to discuss this, if anyone else can be persuaded to discuss how Bush administration's response to the terrorist threat can be improved.

First and foremost - I would remember that protection against the wolves is a collective effort, and that if I go about their extermination with the help of the other farm owners, I have a much better chance of success. For this, I need to listen to their concerns and incorporate them into my strategy. This is smart, because the wolves will then have nowhere to run.

What would be really stupid is to follow heavy-handed and very unpopular strategies like burning all forests so that wolves cannot hide. Other farmers would hate this AND I would be killing off other animals, in fact the whole fauna, as well, not to mention the flora. I would run a chance to be even more unpopular than the wolves in the neighbourhood, and the wolves would find increased support, just because of my stupidity.

I would also consider if my actions have in part led to my current situation, and try not to repeat them in the future - i.e. feeding the wolves and training them to attack and kill the coyote, so I was responsible for the way they got so strong, numerous, and bold in the first place.

I would know that killing them off one by one, especially if this causes others to be more hostile to me, is not the good strategy for the eventual goal of my farm's security from wolves. I would address the root of the problem - where is their nutrition, how do I alienate them from the groups who support them, and how do I do this with all the other farmers so that they will have nowhere to hide?
