No, you misunderstand. In the absence of education, Authoritarian leaders rise to suck the remaining life out of Democracy.

'Parties', as such, whether Democrat, or Republican, or Republi-crat, or Green, or Whig... increasingly modify themselves to support the 'new Caesars', and become less and less participants in a democratic system.

Thus, to *deliberately* destroy popular educational levels, is to destroy the rationale for the Parties themselves.
