I didn't say there was no favoritism, I said that I believe that there was no solicitation of favor by either Bush. Surely you get the distinction. As far as the over- representation of blacks among the grunts goes, if you correlate it socio- economically, you will be closer to the truth. In other words, while middle class whites got student exemptions, or went into Officers Candidate School, or managed to get rated for specialties, rather than being grunts, working class whites from small coal mining towns in western Pennsylvania, as portrayed in "The Deer Huner", were also being over- represented among grunts. The real bias had to do with education, which correlates strongly with being middle class. Then, as there were far more middle class whites than blacks, it skewed racially, as well......
