"Better than expected" on UAL's booking means that a lot more people are desperate to cash in their frequent flyer miles while they can still can, than the MIT Math PHD that UAL hired to guesstimate this came up with for an asnwer. For those of you who can't get a borrow and with some kind of account where you pay your broker 1% or whatever a year for all the trades you want, now would be a good time to hammer them by selling a ton of UAL 2004 and 2005 2.50 calls. Amazing that the junk even gets a bid. My guess is it is again some match whiz that figures the calls should be worth a buck, so they're a steal at 30 cents.
