" Democrats have a complete totalitarian monopoly on the public school system."

I live in NY....which has a repub governor and repub legislature...The county I live is historically almost 100% republican.....

"There are many fine and wonderful teachers that have been hamstrung by modern idiosyncratic views of what children should be taught."

I have the feeling that you suggesting creationism should be taught in public schools.....correct me if I'm wrong, please...as a matter of fact, I'm begging you to tell me I'm wrong...;-)

Yes, there is too much that is goofy, age- inappropriate, PC driven, and otherwise poorly thought out wasting time in most schools. A lot of children do not learn geographic basics; are inadequately drilled in arithmetic; can't spell worth a damn; have an inadequate sense of how British political culture created expectation among the colonists on the Atlantic seaboard; do not have a grasp of basic chronology, for example, placing the Civil War within the right 50 year period; and cannot name two or three characteristics differentiating mammals and fish. I deplore this lack of commitment to teaching essentials.......
