Re: "You are misguided, the public schools are for teaching the fundamentals and not for trying to make different sorts of people like each other."

>>> What makes you say that? Where have I ever said that "peace, love and understanding" should be required subjects, or that 'indoctrination' in any form is a desirable educational goal?

>>> You are boxing with your own shadows, not with mine.

>>> Still, a dispassionate and objective - a scientific - educational foundation would lead people to conclude for themselves that there is no rational basis for racism, and that Democracy and Freedom (although not perfect) offer substantial benefits over all other governmental forms.

<<Dump the garbage and really teach the fundamentals and people will get along better than you ever dreamed.>>

Last year a friend was telling me his son, a HS senior, asked him for help on which order to hit the buttons to do square roots. The lad was in a class of 25 but with 4 assistants they break into 5 students per instructor after the lecture.

Well the dad not only shows him the order but shows him how to do square roots with a pencil and paper. Kid mentions it in class and the dad gets called in. Anymore unauthorized teaching gets the kid expelled.
