As this is an elliot wave thread and most of us are e wave practitioners we tend to follow the methods developed by Prechter and Elliot.

What AA said was completely correct and there is no elliot triangle on gold. The high of the previous upwave is never used to define the boundary of an elliot triangle. Whatever other methods there are fine for whomever wishes to follow them.

In elliot terms the correction from the highs on gold was simply a three wave abc. More specifically a running flat.
