well put JRI....my sentiments exactly. i felt limited downside if any on monday, then up we go to a lower high than 1520. to put my money where my mind was i sold all spx puts, bought spx calls and ndx 100 via 401k accounts. Sole remaining downside protection is some sox calls which i anticipate selling on monday.

Regarding bearish charts: On the Monday we spiked to 1520, charts were throwing off mostly bullish reads (recent breakout), and yet, that would have been the perfect price point to start shorting this move.
I guess my point being: If we stop at some resistence point, it will only be in retrospect that the charts will recover...by then, one could miss many pts. in the move waiting for confirmation.
