Demanding geometric perfection yields far more, IMO, than a pretty picture.

It helps keep one from imposing beliefs, hopes, wishes and opinions on what may otherwise be slop in the chart. I think that any flexibility one imposes on a requirement that a pattern show geometric perfection is fine, but only if it done with consistency. Otherwise, one basically invites seeing only what they want to see in the chart.

I think it's far from 'secondary', but that's just me. I know folks that draw and read patterns with good success which I wouldn't touch.

it seems to me that increasing the odds - even if only "somewhat" - is absolutely primary for market players.
