Smart money also plays large - they normally cannot move huge volume without affecting the market - so they *used* to try to accumulate and distribute slowly while they could and then accelerate when j6p piled on/off because otherwise they'd get stuck holding the bag (e.g. Janus) because liquidating all at once would mean taking huge losses or mean paying up if they wanted to go long. Based on the huge losses the big funds etc are taking/have taken, my feeling is that they're as screwed as anyone else. Only large and small speculators who play short timeframes would love this (I do!) market.
