True, LCDs are faster and higher resolution and just darn pretty to look at. Can't wait for the prices to come down some more. I hope to replace all my monitors with LCDs in the next few years as prices drop.

If anything, they put out less heat and use less power. My power bill was up substantially each time I took vacation time to trade and I got my whole trading platform up and going for a week or two. 5 monitors suck a lot of power.

At the local computer fairs, 17" LCDs have been hovering around $400 and 19" have been around $5-600 for the Samsungs. Another year and they should come down 20% or so I hope which is where I will start nibbling. I recall spending $400 on a regular 19" monitor not that long ago and thinking I got a great deal. Now they are half that just a year or two later.

Our kids will probably have HD full wall displays for peanuts in 10 years. -NG-
