First, although I was once a Roman Catholic, I am not attached to any church, and have not been for many years. Therefore, none of what you have quoted makes any difference to my reasoning on the matter. Second, I would not use a dogmatic definition in any case. My reasoning has only to do with the importance of being circumspect when human life, at some stage, is involved, and has nothing to do with "ensoulment", which is a speculative matter.
