"At Barnett's request, Republican lawyers submitted 50 affidavits they collected on Election Day to his office. Of those, he said, three were allegedly signed by people who said they were paid to vote. So far, Barnett said, authorities have found and interviewed two of those people.

"Call them what you want, they are just flat false," Barnett, a Republican, said of affidavits containing the names of Jolynn Sleeping Bear and Quentin Charging Elk . . .

Barnett said there is no evidence of fraudulent ballots. Of the story in National Review he said, "It was shoddy and irresponsible and sensationalistic and garbage. . . . I think they better start backpedaling."
