whether Bush wins in 04, it's still too far out for me to tell. I don't think Bush can or will "Time the War." Our buildup in the ME right now is so great that I cannot believe we will not go sometime this winter. If the "Inside" stories about our involvement with the internal groups in Iraq are true, Bush just is not a man who would leave them "Twisting". Too many things up in the air to call it, though. So no "Wag the Dog" on this one, IMO. I was watching the morning obits on Gore. The "Nixon in China" example leads me to believe that you will not see the first Woman, Black or Jew elected President by the Democrats. It will be a Republican when it happens. So I would discount Lieberman. The South is still our most Anti-Semitic area. So Lieberman has Primary problems. I can't see Kerry making it, the Dems remember Michael Dukakis too well, and a Northeastern Liberal cannot survive the Southern Primaries, IMO. We will have to see if Edwards can emerge. Too bad for the Dems that Grey Davis is such a Klutz. A Democratic Governor from California would be a shoo-in for the nomination if he were the right candidate. Someone might still come out of the woodwork. The Judicial fight will energize the base on both sides, but not the swing, IMO.
