Lott can resign as Senate Majority leader without resigning as Senator.

Byrd is an idiot, but what Lott said was just plain dumb.

Plus which, conservatives don't like him because he is too nice to Democrats.

I think the whole stinking bunch should be run out of town.

One unintended consequence of Trent Lott's stupid remarks.. and the big brouhaha since.... is that maybe now all politicians who really are racists can be identified, and this country can finally have a serious debate on the subject.

Thanks for looking at the angles all the time......and the history lesson.
