Martin Sheen has some advice for America's real-life commander-in-chief: Give peace a chance.

Sheen, who stars as President Bartlett on NBC's hit political drama "The West Wing," is among more than 100 celebrities who are speaking out against a possible U.S. attack on Iraq.

He did much of the talking last week at a Hollywood news conference to release an open letter from a new group called Artists United to Win Without War.

Sheen said he believed President Bush and his administration "made up their minds a long time ago that they're going to have this war."

The entertainers' letter warned a war with Iraq will ``increase the likelihood of terrorist attacks, damage the economy and undermine our moral standing in the world.''

The group was co-founded by Mike Farrell
