Does poetry just roll out of your fingers like marbles? To what do you credit your talent? It's incredible.

I haven't written much lately -- too busy. I used to ride the bus about 45 minutes to work, up a lovely river called the Clackamas. I wrote my poems in my head and put them on paper when I got to work. Once a fellow I met in a poetry group even wrote a poem about me writing poems on the bus.

In that group I got a Wisteria poem from one of the members, and I think I still have it in storage somewhere. Wisteria must have some kind of special magic.

Poetry is powerful because it forces out every unnecessary syllable. It makes you think.
