I am content to say that the original violence was more or less due to the causes you mention, although I am not sure that is an exhaustive account. If you truly do not mean to set it up as an archetype for the entire history of inter- communal tension, then there isn't much to argue about. I do not think it is unreasonable that I took you to be defining "neocolonialism" as the essential issue down through the decades, rather than the initial irritant, but you have now explicitly disclaimed a grandiose theory several times, so I must take you at your word......
