You're right, i'm an idiot. Wasn't Strom President pro tempore recently also? As stupid as my statement was, my main point remains that there's a big difference between praising a former segregationist and saying that things would be better had the segregationists prevailed. I think the Republicans are smart to throw Lott overboard. He does play to the white supremacists in his state for political advantage, now his party is hanging him for political advantage. That's the business they've chosen. Steve
