They will never accept to be ruled by non Muslims and they will never accept a Jewish or Christian state in the Middle East, they will rather be ruled by a muslim tiranyc leader and live in misery then have a democracy with a high standard of living but ruled by non Muslims or even by moderate non religious muslim. Yes, at bottom it comes to this. For a long time, only Israel was the thorn in their side; the rest of the world was content to deal with their dictators and leave them alone, so long as the oil supply flowed. But now that Islamic terrorists have become a major threat to the US (and to Europe, though Europe seems slow to react), the conflict will escalate.
