Good reading in the Times today....Cushman/Wakefield retail survey found % increase in rents- highest in the nation- were on 58th-63rd/Madison...a 20% annual increase....however, survey was completed in June 2002, and I do believe the shoe has fallen-quite substantially?- since then. (Nothing like paying $650 a sq. foot, eh?)

Also, German chancellor actually did something smart. General penalty amnesty for German repatriating offshore money (25% dividend tax). Supposedly $300b in Austria, Switzerland, Liech/Lux alone. Swiss must be peeing in their pants- talk about killing the golden calf ng. Italy did something similiar last year, and it went so well, they are doing another this year...(French have not yet tried...)

Maybe the Swiss Franc not such a good play after all?
