New Jersey Governor Wants to Make State a Model of Clean Energy Consumption By Akweli Parker, The Philadelphia Inquirer -- Dec. 18 Can New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey add more "green" to the Garden State? He appears set on trying. The governor says he intends to make New Jersey a model of efficient, clean energy consumption. "I think this is one of the critical subjects facing our state and facing the nation," he said last week at a state energy summit he convened in Trenton. The reasons, he said, are economic as well as environmental. Companies based on energy-efficient technologies and renewable technologies such as wind and solar power can add to the economy, help save on power costs and cut down on pollution.
