I disagree with you but the fact is there CAN be principled opposition to an MLK holiday and it does not make one a racist to oppose it. IMO, in general, the term "racist" is applied too liberally and is used as a crutch by the left when losing an argument over social policy affecting minorities.

Not if you're paying for them with tax dollars. Not that anyone will miss 90% of the civil servants for yet another day. Private, accountable, concerns of course aren't affected.

2. MLK was never elected to anything. Neither were the pilgrams.

You think thanksgiving is about giving thanks for the pilgrims?

There are many ways to celebrate the life and work of a great man. National Holidays are for icons.
