I know what you meant. However, there are still areas in Mississippi with strong KKK ties and lots of racism. There are even still bars in New Orleans where blacks can't go. They'll sell them a beer at a side window, but they're not welcome in the bar. There are also parts of town where it is definitely not safe to go to if you are white.You can't legislate to change people's hearts and minds. Unfortunately, IMO, racism will always exist, it is just part of human nature, the best we can do is not let it go to extremes.
