The future is not set in stone, but Bush will be a formidable opponent.

Dear John: Well, if someone can straighten out the healthcare mess in this country that would be something. I can tell you I have many Doctor friends and they are upset that they ARE NOT making the money they feel they ought too and the paperwork for them is extremely burdensome and the liability insurance a yoke around their necks. I cannot see any way to get a handle on the skyrocketing cost without eliminating the attorneys and cracking down harder on medicare fraud. The ONLY plan I have ever seen that made ANY SENSE AT ALL to me was to expand medicare down to say age 55 but charge people 55-65 the full premium. this gives the power of the pool but also strengthens medicare as those paying FULL TAB usually healthier then those over 65, so in a sense they would be underwriting a portion of the old age healthcare cost, yet getting a bargain anyhow as being in a very large pool.
As to prescriptions, the problem is if they were free (something I doubt we could ever afford) they likely would be abused. Doctors are becoming PILL PUSHERS in this country. I personally am constantly fighting with my Doctor whose answer ALWAYS seems to be a pill. jdn

Bush is very beatable in 2004. His approval ratings are 30% souflee due to no competition and the Iraq War frenzy. This economy of his is looking bad. Hard to bring myself to buy any stock these days. The markets dont believe in Bush at all. They know he cooks the books. Or is capable of doing so. Kenny Lay is still free. Ask yourself why. If Bush put Lay in prison the markets would rally.
