( edit Different two guys - these were Limeys) were digging a ditch in the rain. Shamus says to Sean - "Why are we out here getting wet and the boss is up in the trailer dry and warm?" Sean says "I don't know, I'll go ask him." So he goes into the trailer and asks him. The boss puts his hand on an anvil in the trailer and say "Go ahead, hit my hand. I promise I won't fire you. Sean rears back and comes down with his fist on his boss's hand and just at the last moment the boss pulls his hand away and Sean smashes into the anvil. The boss says, "that's why I'm up here and you're down there", as Sean walks back to the hole rubbing his hand. When he gets back Shamus ask him what the boss said. Sean puts his hand up to his face and says, "go ahead, hit my hand."
