The obvious reason is because there are some very nice oil deposits in northern Iraq that are controlled by the Kurds

To get into serious oil reserves, they would have to get south of the current northern no-fly zone. This isn't going to happen.


Oh, I see. Turkey, which has no oil to speak of, doesn't really want any; so they will leave N. Iraq alone.

Oh, that makes perfectly good sense. NOT!
