>i>Why Saddam doesn't understand this, considering that he apparently uses Hitler as one of his models, is beyond me

Sodom is cunning to a point. However, he is a textbook example of the penultimate "dumb Arab"

Sorry For Racist Rant

Native leader David Ahenakew says he's sorry. Ahenakew made national headlines this week after telling a Saskatchewan reporter that Hitler did the right thing by "frying six million Jews" during the Second World War.

Before the interview with the reporter, he gave a speech where he continually referred to non-aboriginal Canadians as "immigrants."

On Tuesday, Ahenakew apologized through the media. "Words cannot describe how sorry I am for the hurt that I have caused. First I want to extend my sincerest apologies to the members of the Jewish community, to the Holocaust survivors and their families. Such comment has no excuse. I am deeply sorry for the pain that I have caused you and your families."

Ahenakew says the comments he made to the reporter were fuelled by anger and unspecified health problems. "Basically I got carried away last Friday. I was caught up in the heat of the moment. I was attempting to spark a debate. A lot has been happening to our First Nations people. I obviously lost my focus. My comment came out in anger, frustration and an imbalance perpetrated by my health. I am not and will not make excuses."

I suppose some folks want more than their pound of flesh????<g>

Despite the apology, the Jewish community is not satisfied.

Ahenakew is a recipient of the Order of Canada

and the Canadian Jewish Congress wants to strip him of that membership.
