I think they need to drag all the senator's records before the public and look for the words "state's rights" or "heritage". Cabinet officers too. This could be a great spectator sport. 50 years is too long to drag out the civil rights campaign.

No, I think that as much by his desperate currying attempts to save his own ass as by the original stupid statement, he has confirmed that he is unprincipled. He should be demoted.
