And of course, Barrick is the only gold that is down today 1%. All the rest are up a few percent. Is this suit going to go the same way the GATA one did? Should we counter-sue Blanchard for making the stock go down <gggg>?

Sounds like sour grapes to me. I did get a good laugh from the following quote, which probably has a fair amount of truth behind it:

"Is Barrick a gold mining company, or is it a hedge fund with a mine out back?"

Another mining analyst, Chad Williams of Westwind Partners in Toronto, said he believes the lawsuit is a marketing ploy, but one that has added to the "aura of uncertainty" around Barrick and its hedging program.

"Our view is that this (suit) is a blatant illustration of a group that really doesn't understand the fundamentals of gold" and its relationship to the U.S. dollar, Mr. Williams said.
