Productive vs Destructive Technologies:
Yes, but the essence of what I was saying is that, concurrent with the unstoppable advance in constructive technologies and lengthening of the human lifespan, destructive technologies seem to be advancing inexorably as well, and threaten the survival of large groups of people and maybe even the human race. Dealing with that paradox has long-term consequences, including economic and financial ones. For example, sending the Enola Gay into flight, opening its bomb doors, and dropping one small object onto a city, quickly ended the lifespan of over a hundred thousand women, children, old men and Korean slave laborers. Life lasts longer, on average, but we learn ways to kill ever larger numbers of people more quickly with every passing year. Also, this knowledge also becomes more widely dispersed with each passing year.
