The market has been pretty robust, especially with interest rates dropping. Unfortunately, the ease of getting mortgages led to over- demand, and housing prices got a little out of control towards the end of the summer. This has certainly encouraged developers, especially in areas where there is still a fair amount of unused land, like Rockville. Bethesda and Chevy Chase are mostly built, although North Bethesda, right above us, has a number of places which are not very old. A landmark restaurant in downtown Bethesda, O'Donnell's, was sold to make way for a new luxury apartment complex in the past year, so some replacement activity is still going on, even in the older, more built up areas.....
