Enron Executive? Just kidding
I met a homeless man in the street who asked me if I could help him out for Christmas. I asked him what he would like for Christmas from me and I told him that I would only give him a Christmas gift if he gave me one also. He said that he would take whatever I was giving so I dug in my pocket and gave him all of my change. He told me that all he could give me was a story. It was not really much change that I gave him so I said Ok. Afterall, how much is a movie nowadays? He began to tell me the story of the cat that lived in the forest.
"There once was a cat that lived in the forest. It had met a cat from the city who had told it many wonderful stories about humans and the love and affection that they could give. The forest cat wanted to know how to get the love and affection from the humans so the city cat told the forest cat to just rub along the legs of the humans and eventually he would get picked up and petted and cared for. The forest cat remembered this and whenever it would see any humans it would go up and rub against their legs. Everytime the humans would scream and run away. The forest cat went through it's entire life wondering why he could not get any love and affection from the humans that the city cat had received. When the forest cat finally died and passed on to heaven he asked God why he had lived his entire life without love and affection from the humans. After all he had done everything that the city cat had done." Then the homeless man asked me "Do You know why the forest cat could not find any love from the humans even though he had done everything that the city cat had done?" With that he ran off down the street. I felt totally ripped off with what I had received for my part of the Christmas present. The homeless man had left me with a story that had no ending. As I walked down the street I had to smile and laugh to myself as I realized the answer to his story and the Gift that the homeless man had given me. The answer to his story was that the forest cat could not get a loving reception from the humans as it was actually a Porcupine. The Gift was that I realized that the answers to most of my questions could actually be answered by looking inside myself. Of course there is still the perplexity of whether or not the answers are Correct and as to the Source of the Answers. Do you ever wonder who is answering your questions when you ask them of yourself? Something to think about Eh?
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Joyous New Year to you and yours. I just happen to add Everyone else in the World. Sorry about that :^)
